JCF Requesting Public Assistance in Locating Abandoned Newborn’s Parents

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is requesting the help of the Jamaican public in locating the parents of a newborn baby girl who was said to be abandoned in Trelawny on Thursday, October 5, on the Sawyers main road.

The Trelawny authorities are asking anyone who may know more about the baby and the circumstances that led to her being cast aside to come forward with any useful information. Interested persons are being asked to call 119, 876-954-3073 to get to the Falmouth police, or to reach out to the Duncans police at 876-954-2433.

According to law enforcement agents, they were contacted and called to the area after a pedestrian noticed a car that drove passed her stop along the main road, someone exited the vehicle and left something on the sidewalk. After investigating, the civilian, realizing that it was a baby girl, called the police.

The incident was stated to have taken place at around 7:00 in the evening and the child was found swaddled in a white blanket. The baby was taken to the hospital and CPFSA (Child Protection and Family Services Agency) was called to the scene.
