Jeff Bezos No Longer World’s Richest Man, Bill Gates Replaced Him

Bill Gates is now the richest man on earth because he replaced Jeff Bezos the Amazon tycoon who lost his spot in late trading on Thursday.

Forbes reported that Amazon’s shares plummeted 7 percent, and Bezo’s fortune fell to $103.9 Billion, while Gates net worth is now standing at $105.7 Billion, this means Bezo is now the 2nd richest man on earth for the first time in over a year.

Bezo is no longer at the top spot because of his very costly divorce. His ex-wife MacKenzie took a large chunk of his fortune. Her net worth is now $32.7 billion and she now sits among the top 20 richest persons on earth.

Bezos might be back at the top whenever Amazon stock rises again, but for now Gates is the bad billionaire. He lost the “world’s richest man” title after he held it for 24 years, to Bezos in 2018.
