Jury Selection for Bill Cosby’s Retrial

[Sharingbuttons]The prosecution and the defense teams in the sexual assault retrial of a case that involves the 80 year old Comedian Bill Cosby, settled on having a 12 member panel on Wednesday, after the third day of jury selection. The trial is scheduled to be held in Norristown, Pa it will begin on Monday. Sources revealed that Mr. Cosby is charged with drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand, 44 in Philadelphia near his home in 2004. He says the encounter between them was consensual; but the prosecutors are determined to call many more witnesses to prove that he is a predator.

The Associated Press reported that the jury consists of two Blacks and 10 Whites, seven men and five women. The six alternates will be selected by both sides.

Jury Pool Prejudiced
It seems as if Black people are being kept out of the jury, as there were some Black people who were turned down. Even though there are some individuals who say this is not so; however only 10 out of the 240 persons brought in when jury selection started were Black. There are not much Black people in that area, so maybe the ratio will always be that way.
