Court proceedings were adjourned abruptly today in the One Don/Klansman trial after Ted Prince, a defendant, urinated in the courtroom.
Reports are that the defendant, who was among his codefendants in courtroom two, indicated to the judge that he wanted to use the restroom after raising his hand. One of the defendant’s arms is notably injured.
Prince then allegedly jumped over the bench he was sitting on and started urinating towards a wall. This reportedly happened less than a minute after his request to use the restroom.
There was a moment of deafening silence across the room as the audience and the courtroom officials were shocked by his actions.
Presiding Judge, Chief Justice Bryan Sykes, immediately took a break from his summation and ordered the matter to resume in the afternoon, at approximately 12:10 pm.
Ted Prince is charged with being a part of a criminal organization, along with murder.
There are also twenty-six co-accused in the trial that started with thirty-three defendants. The amount was reduced when one of the defendants, who was out on bail, was shot and killed. The other five were released due to a lack of evidence against them.
