Learn The Difference Between the “Coronavirus” Versus the “Flu”
When the Flu is compared with Covid-19 it is good to look at the facts since every year the seasonal flu kills about 60,000 Americans but this new virus has killed over 70,509 persons and infected 1,276, 117 while 265,944 recovered worldwide and we haven’t had it for a year, we only had it for a few months and so many persons have died.
Measles is one of the most infectious diseases we know, seasonal flu passes from one person to one or 2 more person, but covid-19 will be passed to 2 persons and after ten rounds more than 2000 persons will be sick. It is very dangerous and we need to take it very seriously.
It takes 5 or 12 to 14 days for you to start feeling symptoms but the flu has an average incubation period of about 2 days, you feel sick and know you are contagious much faster, but covid-19 flips that around, you can be spreading it around before you know you are sick.
No one has a natural immunity to it, while the spread of the flu is limited because some persons are already immune to it, if they got their flu shot or if they already had that flu strain. Immunized persons can also protect other persons who are susceptible to the virus.
However, with Covid-19 no one is immune, and there is no vaccine, only 2% of people need to be hospitalized when they have the flu, but a higher percentage of persons who have Covid-19 needs to be hospitalized.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, revealed that the new virus has a mortality that is 10 times higher than the flu.
Scientists say between 1 and 3% of persons might die from Covid-19 while 0.1% of persons who have the flu will die.
The only defence we have against it is taking ourselves out of the equation by staying away from other persons as we practice social distancing and staying home. Comparing it to the flu is not a good thing to do.
It is natural for us to make a comparison as that will make us feel numb when the current situation is bad, but we should be vigilant and do all we can to avoid contracting Covid-19.
