Leon Bailey Becomes First Reggae Boy to Assist a Goal in UEFA Champions League

On Wednesday, March 12, Leon Bailey became the first Reggae Boy to assist a goal in the UEFA Champions League after setting up teammate Marco Asensio to score his first of two goals in the second half of the second leg of the round of 16 match versus Belgian team Club Brugge.

Leon Bailey and Aston Villa advance to the quarter final of the tournament where they will tackle PSG on the 8th of April.

Bailey, who scored in the first leg last week, also made history, becoming the first Jamaican born to score in the UEFA Champions League, he’s also the second Reggae Boy to score in the tournament, with West Morgan being the first.

Aston Villa beat Club Brugge today at Villa Park 3-0 after a 3-1 victory in the first leg.

Leon Bailey celebrated the win with an Instagram post hours after the match, with the caption, “CL Quarter Finals Baby! 🅰️🤩❤️ #UTV.”
