Leon Bailey Opens Scoring to Help Aston Villa Beat Club Brugge 3-1 in Champions League

On Tuesday, Reggae Boy Leon Bailey started for Aston Villa in Belgium as the English team played in the Champions League last 16 versus Club Brugge.

The Jamaican footballer found the back of the net after just a few minutes into the match via a well-placed shot off his left foot that went to the goalkeeper’s right.

The host team levelled up in the 12th minute and the first half ended 1-1. However, Aston Villa showed superiority in the closing stages of the match, leading to an own goal in the 82nd minute and loanee Marco Asensio scoring via a penalty in the 88th minute.

This match, which was the first leg of a two-legged encounter, ended in a 1-3 victory to Aston Villa, the second leg will be played on Wednesday, March 12.
