‘Dem Ago Dead’, Beenie Man‘s first major musical release of 2024 surfaced on Monday, a few days after Vybz Kartel dropped his very own lyrical missile titled ‘Amout’. Just like ‘Amout’, ‘Dem Ago Dead’ features hard-hitting lyrics seemingly aimed at multiple Dancehall artistes including Vybz Kartel, Mavado and Kiprich.
“Who school dem, dem ago dead, a fool dem, dem ago dead, a who rule dem, dem ago dead… yo get shot inna, shot inna, shot inna yo head,” sings Beenie Man in the chorus of the new release.
Lines such as “you nuh real Mckoy”, “who school dem”, “when mi shoot man score, that a one more from ova Portmore”, “mek yo famous, put yo pan the Billboard,” are some of the lyrics which signifies the purpose of the song who it’s aimed at.
Reacting to the new release on YouTube, one Beenie Man fan stated, “1 king of the dance hall and thats beenie man straight … lyrics ina over drive.” Another individual who is not a fan of the ‘Doctor’ outlines, “This song nuh mek it, low di clash, kiprich song ah lead.”
Notably, the Talk of the Town produced song was not released on Beenie Man’s official YouTube Channel, he’s also yet to share the track to his Instagram page, never the less, he visited Boom Sunday’s to promote the song.
