Despite earlier rumours of beef between the two dancehall giant’s camps, Vybz Kartel and Masicka seem to have squashed any friction between them and appear to be on the verge of dropping their latest collaboration ‘Shootaz’. Earlier this month, Masicka hinted at an upcoming collaboration with the incarcerated artiste following the success of their first smash hit ‘Infrared’.
Fans have since gone wild after hearing a short preview of the upcoming collaboration, uploaded by @vybzkartelnews via Instagram.
Vybz Kartel started the audio by declaring, “Gaza Genahsyde, some boy fi step aside” Masicka concurred with the Gaza boss by stating, “Onesyde Gaza, our ground,” Kartel continued the intro by saying, “What you talking bout, is our place.”
This upcoming collaboration seems like a direct follow-up to their first collaboration Infrared, both in terms of what the song sounds like and the message it conveys. The cover art for the track also paints the picture of the type of song, threading on the lines of donship and gangsterism.
Both deejays have a huge and loyal fan base in the dancehall space, so there is no doubt this will be another banger by the two dancehall heavyweights. As for Masicka, he released his first track of the new year just weeks ago, which was also a collaboration with fast-rising star Jahshii entitled pieces.

Kartel, however, has already released several songs this year despite being in prison, with the controversial song From Mi Born being the latest, providing further confirmation that he is the most consistent dancehall artist to have ever existed.
