Magnitude 4.3 Earthquake Rocks Sections of Jamaica

At about 8:02 PM on Wednesday, May 1, an estimated magnitude 4.3 earthquake rocked sections of eastern Jamaica. “I felt it in central St. Mary,” stated one person, shortly after the quake.

TVJ Journalist Giovanni R. Dennis also shared the screenshot above on X(formerly Twitter), he wrote, “4.3 Magnitude Earthquake just felt in sections of Jamaica.”

Jamaica’s worst recorded earthquake in history was the famous Port Royal quake of June 7, 1692.
