Man Given 20 Year Sentence For FATAL STABBING Of Child

29-year-old Dwayne Thomas has been slapped with a 20-year sentence for the 2019 stabbing of a mother, and her 8-year-old son which led to the child’s death.

Thomas who is from the community of Old Harbour Glades, in St. Catherine, recently pleaded guilty before High court Judge Courtney Daye, for the charge of murdering 8-year-old Aaron Masters as well as the wounding of the little boy’s mother which saw him also getting a 10-year sentence which he will serve concurrently with the initial 20-year sentence, needing to spend 10 years before any parole consideration.

According to the reports, on the 23rd of November in the year 2019, the man who works as a professional labourer had an altercation with the child’s mother who is said to be a bartender.

While the two persons, who were said to also be in a relationship at the time were having the dispute, the man went on to seriously injure both the mother and child.

After the attack they were both rushed to the hospital however, young Masters could not have been saved from the deadly stab he received.

After investigations were done at the time, Thomas was taken into custody and charged for the crimes.

Even though Thomas ended up in a hotspot, he still got his sentence decreased due to his cooperation where admitting his guilt for the crimes.
