Mavado’s Daughter ‘Skye Diamond’ Talks Growing Music Career

Mavado’s daughter Skye Diamond just inked a record deal as she is now ready to take on the world. Sky sat down with Winford Williams of OnstageTv recently to talk about what’s in store for her music, her family and where she’s from.
She was born in Cassava Piece and went to Meadow Brook High School, before doing practical nursing and now she is showing her talent to the world, doing music. Skye is 20-years-old and wanted to get educated before she launched her music career. Her father is her mentor and even though she tries to do things on her own, so she can make him proud. She finds she still needs his help.
At 16 her first song was ‘How Yu Dweet’ and she did many songs after that. “A mi style a flatter dem’ a line from one of her new songs. She is already getting good feedback about her music from Africa and the UK. Skye says music is in her DNA and she has just released her first visual.
She says she doesn’t have anything much to say about her brother who is still in prison, because she has left the situation in God’s hand.
The young Gully Goddess is trying to be a mentor to the young women in Jamaica.
She knows the music industry can put a lot of pressure on artistes, but she can see a clear path for herself and she is just being herself even now that she is getting a lot of support from her mother, her almost-three-year-old son, her growing fan base and other family members.
She is singing about fashion and all the things that the young women can relate to. Diamond writes her own lyrics as she builds her own fan base and doesn’t want to use her father’s fame. The young artiste has a lot more music in store because she just can’t resist the music business. Skye Diamond is signed with “All Faces Entertainment”.
