Mavado’s Mother Laid To Rest… See Clips From The Funeral

Today marks a very important day in the life of Dancehall artiste Mavado, properly known as David Brooks as his mother was finally laid to rest. His mother whose name is Elizabeth Gordon popularly known as “Ms Pinny”, passed away in early March of this year after falling ill. Since then she was not given a funeral due to the Covid-19 restrictions disallowing that.

Today, however, “Ms Pinny” was finally given a burial, for which clippings of the ceremony were posted on Instagram by the singer’s daughter Skye Diamond, who is also an artiste of herself singing at the church where the funeral was held.

The “Gully God” also posted a video on his Instagram page of the casket in the ground and the singer’s fans were all supporting him through this time, with many of them sending him best wishes in the comments section of the video.

Mavado wrote, “Go with god mama you have done nothing wrong on this earth May god bless your beautiful soul my queen.🙏🏿❤️🔑”

Earlier, Mavado outlined that his mother was the only person he could trust and he could always put his life in her hands. Mavado recalls walking up and down Constant Spring Road when he was a kid and dreaming of buying a big house and car for her when he grows up, something he managed to accomplish.
