Renowned Argentinian footballer Lionel Messi is expected to join Inter Miami when the American football club plays against Jamaican club Cavalier FC in the 2025 CONCACAF Champions Cup.
As the reigning CONCACAF Caribbean Cup champions, Cavalier earned direct entry into the Round of 16 for the Champions Cup.
Inter Miami advanced to the Round of 16 after their 3-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City on Tuesday.
Cavalier and Inter Miami will first meet on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Chase Stadium in Miami.
After their first match, the Florida-based club will face Cavalier on Jamaican soil at the National Stadium in Kingston on Thursday, March 13.
Local football fans are already looking forward to a potential faceoff between Messi and Cavalier in Jamaica, with one person writing,
“I will personally drag Messi to 🇯🇲 if he even thinks about missing this game 🔥.”
Another fan highlighted that it is a great opportunity for Cavalier members to be scouted.
“International Scouts will see the whole Cavaliers team in this match,” the fan wrote.
