MiamiVicee Working to Make an Impact in Dancehall
Yardhype recently caught up with American based, Jamaican artiste, MiamiVicee, who answered a variety of questions that fans of his would want to know.
When asked about his nativity, the “nuh other way” artiste said he was born in Kingston Jamaica, Kingston public hospital, In the ’90s.
He explained that he Lived at Glenddrive Cassava Piece in the early 2000s, moved to Marverly and then to Lincoln Rd, Kingston 5, after which his family moved to America.
When asked about the music and how he got started, MiamiVicee whose real name is Kishi Allen explained that he has always been into music, especially since moving to America. He said he would listen to whatever music his family listened to and learn how they spoke and pronounce the words in the process.
MiamiVicee stated that he was also a Composer, for several churches.
The Druggy Records artiste said that around the age of 17 he started dancehall music and found himself always writing lyrics, in a notebook in privacy and just sing over instrumentals until he gained a confidence boost in 2018 when he started to take his craft serious and Invested his money in the right directions.
At this point, MiamiVicee is 24 years old, and his style of music is Dancehall, when asked about his favourite verse that he wrote, he said “Bet uh dem bet against wi wen wi did a throw di dice”.
MiamiVicee was not afraid to give the dancehall giants their credit, as when asked about his favourite dancehall artistes, he answered Masicka, Popcaan, Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Beenie Man and Bounty Killer.
His most favoured reggae artistes were Bob Marley, Chronixx, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Capleton for which he said they were equally influential in his life.
What is MiamiVicee doing currently in his career? The entertainer told Yardhype, that the next chapter of his music career, is the release of a new single entitled “ways”.
In giving more information about his personal life, the artiste told us that God and his mother’s prayers keep him grounded and level headed.
In stating what he loves the most about Jamaica, he said the music.
He is currently working with “Druggy Records” which is the record label behind his musical endeavours.
How does MiamiVicee make music? He said he would usually listen to a riddim which gives him the inspiration to speak to it and that’s how he comes up with his lyrics, in a freestyle format.
When provocatively asked about his views On the Current state of Dancehall And Reggae music MiamiVicee says he thinks a new vibe and taste is needed in the dancehall industry and confident he said “i got what it takes”.
He’s optimistic about the future and explained that within 3 years he sees himself on the international music charts.
