Michael Jackson’s Nephew to Star in His Upcoming Biopic
The nephew of the legendary Michael Jackson will star as the King of Pop in the upcoming biopic “Michael.” Jaafar Jackson is the 26-year-old son of Jermaine Jackson, the second vocalist (after Michael) of the Jackson five.
Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, described him by saying he “embodies” her son. “It’s so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers,” Katherine added.
Jaafar, who released his first song, “Got Me Singing,” in 2019, will debut in acting as the iconic Smooth Criminal singer. Ecstatic to play the role, Jaafar took to Twitter with the words, “I’m humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life. To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon.”
According to TMZ, Antoine Fuqua will direct the film for Lionsgate alongside Graham King, the producer. King described Jaafar by saying that he was surprised by how “he organically personifies the spirit and personality of Michael.”
