Michail Antonio, is finally in Jamaica as a part of the National squad gearing up to face Panama today in the second match of their World Cup Qualifiers campaign and hopes to contribute his skills in a way that might lead to the ‘Reggae Boyz’, securing victory in the game set for 5 pm.
According to the West Ham United striker, being in Jamaica on such an excursion is “exciting” for him, and he told the Jamaica Observer that, he has been, for a long time trying to get into the country and secure some games even though he has no clue as to if he will be on the field in the upcoming match.
According to Antonio who was born in London with both parents Jamaican, travelling at a time like this to Jamaica to work is uncommon, since he would usually be on breaks when his teammates in the English Premier League return to their home countries to play.
In his talk with the Jamaica Observer, the 31-year-old says he will be bringing his professionalism, ability to hold up plays and score goals to the squad. His words do say a lot too since he already has 4 goals from only 3 games, with 3 assists in the new season of the UK league.
As an advantage for Antonio, he says he is well knowing of some of his teammates from playing against them overseas, where he also met footballers who were Jamaican natives which according to him makes it “good vibes”, and said that they are already chilling and joking around together.
The team will also do well with the fact that the West Ham United player is well versed in connecting with all fractions of the playing field.
Currently, Jamaica has zero points in their World Cup qualifier group, while Mexico who they last played are on 3 points. Other countries such as Canada, the United States, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Honduras who are a part of the group, sit at 1 point.

Jamaica will need to step up their future games to secure a top-three position in the group to gain an automatic qualifying position to the world revered games, otherwise, they will need to face off in an intercontinental game if they place 4th to get an opportunity to touch the big stage for the second time since 1998.
The match will be played in Kingston, at the National Stadium.
