Reggae Boy Michail Antony is still reminiscing on the unforgettable moment he wrapped the Jamaican national flag around him as he lifted the Europa Conference League trophy with West Ham. Antonio says it was an incredible moment for him to finally be able to celebrate with the black, green and gold flag.
“It was amazing to be fair, obviously everyone is there supporting their country and one thing is am definitely supporting mine and the island where my mom grow-up and it’s the place where she always brought me from when I was young to I was like 20 years old now start going their myself so there is an opportunity for me to have the Jamaican flag around me and I was never going to miss that opportunity,” Antonio revealed.
Antonio admitted that the European Conference League win with West Ham was exceptional, especially having the Jamaica flag on one of the biggest stages in European football. However, the striker expressed that he still feels like he is missing something to complete a milestone moment in his career.
The West Ham striker, who sat down with media personality Simone Preston for a one-on-one interview, also revealed that he is with the Reggae Boyz squad beaming for the Gold Cup to commence with the intention of winning another title.
“Like, obviously, I know I have won, I have got the medal at home, but it just doesn’t feel like doesn’t feel like it’s not sent home yet, so am here; I’ll be hoping to win another one,” Antonio outlined.
Almost two years have passed since Antonio made his debut for the Reggae Boyz, however, the striker says he and his teammates have already created a good bond, camaraderie and atmosphere amongst themselves.
