Mother of Police Officer Gunned Down by Criminals, Suspect Turns Himself In to the Police

Laetitia Francis who resided in Old Harbour, St Catherine was shot dead at her Shop on Thursday, February 6 at approximately 11.47 am, Less than a week after her son was attacked by gunmen.

The Fifty-seven-year-old woman was the mother of a police officer who was attacked by gunmen recently and in order to defend himself, he had killed one of his attackers.

Residents in the community saw when men walked into her shop and then they heard gunfire and found her badly wounded when they went to check on her after the men left. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

However, a man, whose name is being withheld has turned himself in at the Old Harbour Police Station on Friday, February 7, it was reported by the St. Catherine South police that he will be interviewed in the presence of his lawyer.
