Mother Pleads for Help with Daughter’s Medical Fees For 3rd Degree Burns

Delicita Anderson was alerted by the screams of her daughter Kerry-ann Collins, on November 27 as a gas stove, that she was using exploded leading to her getting caught on fire and receiving burns all over her body.

The incident happened in the community of Palm Grove, off Spanish Town road.

According to the mother, she had to rush in the Kitchen with a bath of water, immediately throwing it on Collins to out the fire.

She said the burns have left her daughter in a terrible condition, and she continues to hang on to life at the Kingston Public Hospital where there are no Units to treat the 3rd degree burn her daughter sustained.

The burns received by Collins will need to be dealt with by plastic surgery, and grafting which comes with a hefty fee of USD 773,000 and USD 15000 for the air ambulance fee.

The Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami has agreed that they will take Collins in for treatment if the fees are paid upfront, however, that is something that Anderson says she cannot do it this time as she does not have it.

The family have received word from another hospital that they will be able to take her without fees, however, there have been no confirmation and the fees for grafting, plastic surgery and an Air ambulance still stands.

Anderson, a mother of 3, said that her daughter was working at the heart academy where she also completed her studies in business management and was also retailing clothes. Delcita said she does not work and had become dependent on her Kerry-ann and her other daughter Felicia.

The family has established a Gofund me for contributions towards Collins treatment, however, if anyone wants to directly help the family cause, they can transfer the funds to Felicia Collins account which is 997372, at the Scotia Centre or to Delcita Anderson for C.O.K at 777485.424-2.
