Motorcyclists Lead In Alarming Number of Road Fatalities

The numbers with regards to road fatalities just seems to be going up and up, according to latest reports over 100 persons have lost their lives on Jamaica’s roads since the start of 2019. Motorcyclists accounts for most traffic fatalities with 28% of the deaths being bike riders.

A total of 106 individuals have lost their life’s in 96 different road accidents across the island since January 1 this year, according to the Road Authorities in 2018 less total road fatalities were recorded.

Now the Authorities are strongly urging especially motorcyclists and their pillions to wear helmets and other protective devices to safeguard in the event of an accident.
