Dancehall artiste Navino’s latest musical offering, Raw Truth, secured him the prime spot on the US iTunes Reggae Music Video Chart, making the deejay one of the few if not the first independent artiste to surpass veteran Sean Paul on the respectable chart.

Known for songs such as Chilling Time and Life Too Short, Navino released his EP Feelings earlier this year. The deejay, born Ricardo Fraser, released Raw Truth on December 8, with the single quickly entering the iTunes chart.

The single sees the artiste proclaiming himself free from the criticism and opinions of others. The track’s music video features visuals with varying tonal changes throughout, including the classic speckled abrasions from movies shot traditionally on film.

Raw Truth was produced by 1Family Records, Real Live Records, DJ Treasure Music, and A Legends Productions, The official Music Video for the track was released on YouTube on Friday. The single’s music video has since secured the #1 spot on the US iTunes Reggae Music Video Chart, taking the prime spot from Sean Paul, who held supremacy over the top five with his tracks, TemperatureGet Busy, We Be Burnin’, Hot Gal/Deport Dem, and So Fine.

As Raw Truth continues to grow in popularity, the track has also broken into the Top 20 on the iTunes Reggae Chart at #17 among legends such as Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff.

Some lyrics from the eye-opening track include, “Mi nah change fi please nuh body mi stuck inna mi ways i’m sorry… One time mi use to care how people feel but now mi jus nuh give a f**k.”
