Lawyer Confident Because of New Evidence Presented in Vybz Kartel’s Murder Case, The case in the Jamaica Court of Appeal got underway on the 9th of July and it will continue on July 16th in the High Court.
There is cell phone evidence that shows that Clive “Lizard” Williams was in St. Catherine at the time when he was allegedly beaten to death at Swallowfield in Kingston.
Throughout the trial in 2014 the lawyers were saying the cell phone evidence was tampered with. The lawyers who are representing Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm have decided to leave no stone unturned, they are determined to win the case for their clients. On Monday, July 9th they convinced the judge to accept the new evidence, and this has made the prosecutor’s case very unstable.
There is a big difference in the statements given by the prosecution’s star witness. In one statement he said he arrived at the house between 5 and 5:30 pm and in the other statement he said he got there at 8 pm.
Clive William’s body has not been found and the main witness who is in witness protection, who said he ran for his life and got away from the killers, gave his statement 8 days after the alleged killing.
The lawyers say they are confident that the accused men will be set free later this month.
