Nicki Minaj has proven to be a huge fan of dancehall countless times, and now she shows that she is a devoted admirer of Ninjaman. Nicki, widely regarded as the Queen of Rap, has always expressed her love for Jamaican music and demonstrated her support for the veterans of dancehall and the up-and-coming sensations.
On Tuesday night, the Trinidadian artiste shone her spotlight on dancehall powerhouse Ninjaman, as she was spotted on the internet grooving to one of his classic songs in a compilation of videos. In the video shared on her Instagram page, Nicki is singing and twerking to Ninjaman’s song Number One.
The clips feature her in a striped blue and white bikini and a behind-the-scenes clip of her upcoming music video, Red Ruby Da Sleeze, shot in Beetham, Trinidad, which features Skeng.
The post has accumulated more than 426,401 likes and more than 7527 comments in hours. The viewers showered Nicki in compliments, and one commenter said, “Big up the original Don Gorgon Ninjaman. Nicki’s fav dancehall artist.” Another IG user wrote, “Y’all need to know this some real gangster reggae music.”

Dancehall icon Ninjaman is currently serving a life sentence for a murder conviction. Following a domestic altercation, the deejay, whose actual name is Desmond Ballentine, was found guilty of killing Ricardo Johnson in 2009.
