Ninja Man Declares Tallup as New Queen of Dancehall

The Dancehall Don Gorgon has taken the “Queen of Dancehall” title from Spice and crowned Tallup as the new queen. The declaration was made on Ninjaman’s Instagram account not long after Spice officially returned to the spotlight.

The post featured a video of dancehall artiste Tallup doing a freestyle on an old-school dancehall beat. The singjay was in the studio, rocking an afro as she brought back the classic vibe dancehall had decades ago.

Ninjaman, who is serving a life sentence for murder, wrote, “Let me introduce to u the new Queen of Dancehall the war is on @tallupthetalented1 which gal bad so? #viralvideo #spin u roll #video #sundayvibes.”

While some viewers praised Tallup’s talent, others disapproved of Ninjaman’s choice. One viewer wrote, “she not even buss yet bout queen a dancehall,” and another commented, “Ninja man… what she do to be dancehall queen ? Ninja man you work the years to be don inna dancehall…get grip of your self me don.” Another IG user even argued that Ninjaman only said so because he and Spice were not on speaking terms.

Tallup, who also goes by “Queen of Mobay,” is still emerging in the music industry. In 2021, her single Waistline peaked at #6 on YouTube’s Trending Music chart in Jamaica.
