Ninjaman Weighs in on Niah’s Killing: “We have to do better in front of the world”

One of Jamaica’s most iconic Dancehall artistes in history, Ninjaman addressed the current hostile environment locally on social media in his final letter to the public for 2024.

The Don Gorgon shared multiple letters this year, compiled and narrated by JoJo Mac. In his new letter, he talks about the negatives of social media on the Jamaican population that is loved worldwide.

“We have to do better in front of the world, because the more we show our ill feelings toward each other, the more we lose on how the world feels about us,” Ninjaman said at one point in the letter.

He also highlighted that we(Jamaicans) are loved for things such as, “our drive, our culture, our compassion, our resilience, not to mention our charm.”

He expressed that the island is not loved as much as before because of the happenings on social media. “Since the emergence of social media, a lot of darkness have clouded the space… lives can be taken on camera with such disregard,” he detailed.

The veteran Dancehaller implores social media users to stop showing off their gains online which might prompt attacks. He also called for better use of the app, without badmind because everyone has a chance to make it.
