Attorney-at-law, Christopher Townsend declares that his client Noel Maitland, the boyfriend of the missing social media influencer, Donna-Lee Donaldson is maintaining his innocence against the murder charge and hopes to prove this in court soon.
Earlier today, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Fitz Bailey confirmed in a press conference that they had charged Maitland with murder after 20 days of diligent and comprehensive investigation by detectives. He also added that the body of Donaldson has not been found but they theorise that she is dead.
“We have not recovered the body of Miss Donaldson, but we believe that she is dead based on our investigations and science,” DCP Bailey said.
However, Townsend is adamant that the evidence against his client is circumstantial and will not stick. He also stated not everyone who has been charged is guilty of a crime.
On July 27, Noel Maitland was taken into custody and later taken to court on July 29 where he was further remanded into custody. According to the police, they presume that Donaldson was murdered between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. on July 12, which is a day after she was last seen in Maitland’s company.
Further investigations are ongoing to ascertain the whereabouts of Donaldson’s body as advised by DCP Bailey.
