Confusion erupted during the funeral service for murdered police officer Constable Ricardo Fairclough, as the pastor overseeing the service collapsed during his sermon on Saturday.
Constable Fairclough was murdered by gunmen in St. Ann’s Bay on April 15 as he attempted to stop a robbery in progress.
Following his death, the funeral service for the slain policeman was held at the Ocho Rios Baptist Church in St. Ann earlier today, with Pastor Paul Andrew Norman overseeing the service.
Norman seemingly had a medical emergency during his sermon while at the pulpit. In footage recorded during the service, Norman can be seen slumping at the pulpit while standing next to another gentleman.
This prompted several churchgoers to rush to the pulpit to try and assist Norman, but the pastor later lost consciousness.
According to the Jamaica Gleaner, after Norman was assisted offstage, the remainder of the church proceedings was abandoned.
