Patrick Powell Sentenced To 9 Months In Prison On Firearm Conviction

[Sharingbuttons]Businessman, Patrick Powell, who was last month found guilty of failing to hand over his firearm to the police for inspection, was today sentenced to nine months in prison.

Powell was found guilty after prosecution led evidence that Powell, who was a licensed firearm holder in July 2011, failed to hand over his weapon to the police.

The weapon was wanted for inspection in relation to the July 2011 shooting death of schoolboy Khajeel Mais.

The sentence was handed down by Judge Vaugh Smithin the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court in Half Way Tree.
