Pliers the dancehall singjay had an end-of-days nightmare and decided to change from secular music to Gospel.

“Is a dream; Mi get a vision seh something terrible happen. Is like one night mi deh home a sleep and I see where the world would a end. It was terrible to see people running and lightning and thunder and I was running. Then at one point, mi start hear voices and it was literally just terrible. “When mi wake up, mi just put down the melody and the punchline ” he revealed during an interview.

“Seek The Lord Now,” is the song he did and it will be a part of the singjay’s newest 13-track album, which is set to be released on April 10, 2020. It is being produced by Jah Screw.

Pliers say he felt pushed to sing the lyrics, he just had to do the song, he is now thinking of doing more Gospel songs, even though it isn’t that he is trying to appeal to a different market.

He is set to perform at “God is Awesome” an open-air meeting, that will be held at the Louise Bennett-Coverley Square in Gordon Town at 6:00 pm, where he will be singing the song. Gordon Town Methodist Church is putting on the event.

Pliers whose given name is Everton Bonner says he believes people need to hear his special gospel song.
As a solo act, Pliers’ hit songs were “Bam Bam” and “Your Love is Burning”.

Pliers and Chaka Demus both enjoyed successful careers as a duo in the early 1990’s, but he had a good career as a solo artiste before. The duo produced many hits such as  “Murder She Wrote”, She Don’t Let Nobody” and “Tease Me”.
