A video of Prime Minister Andrew Holness giving his support to award-winning entertainer Yaksta as he records in the studio is currently circulating online.
Posted by Sleek Jamaica to their Instagram page as a reel, the video was captioned, “The Prime Minister of Jamaica @andrewholnessjm in studio with @OfficialYaksta while he recorded his album ’22.” The song that was being played in the video was entitled My Baby Oh And was said to be “a fusion of Afro Beat, Amapiano, Dancehall, and Reggae.”
In the video, the Prime Minister can be seen seated in a chair while Yaksta records the song on the other side of a see-through glass. He is seen subtly bobbing to the music and then commenting on something that could not be heard over the recording.

While some thought that it was good for the Prime Minister to support Jamaican artistes in this way, others thought that it was just a ploy in the wake of upcoming elections.
Godfreyb443 said, “unu nuh mek him tricks unu again him no love dance hall, he’s for the rich boys,” while marc.yue_ceo_ stated, “I actually think this is a dope thing. Sitting and witnessing the process must give a greater appreciation for the artist and the music. Plus Yaksta is a very good, talented and intelligent artist.”
