According to the news, a police operation done in the parish of Clarendon on July 8th, 2020 led to the arrest of four men which included a Policeman. At approximately 1 a.m on the said day the police stopped a car at the Glenmuir Road and Muirhead Avenue intersection in the parish of Clarendon.
The car was subsequently searched and two illegal firearms containing live rounds were found. It is reported that a 9mm Taurus and 9mm pistol were both found containing 9 and 14 cartridges consecutively and were confiscated from the men along with ballistic vests.
The men associated with the seizure of the illegal firearms are Bertram Burrell a 43-year-old truck driver of Burnt Ground District in Hanover, 33 Keflyn Pennant from the same Hanover community, Tafari Rass a 33 years old tractor operator from Old Harbour, St. Catherine and most surprisingly Chevon Downer who is a Police officer from Pointy district, St. Catherine.
The 14th of July, 2020 has been set as the court date for the men to face the judge in trying to prove their innocence.
