The gun attack that took place on St John’s Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine and left a 2-year-old child along with 5 other persons injured and 2 women dead, was described as a reprisal by the police.
Oneika Carter from Georges Lane, Kingston who was 28-years-old and Tracy-Ann Senior from Parade Gardens in Central Kingston both lost their lives.
It is not known how many injured persons are still in hospital, but the 2-year-old boy and a male and female who were both 17-years-old, were injured as well.
It was reported that the persons got shot after they attended the funeral service that was held for Troy Terrelonge outside Spanish Town, St Catherine. They were sitting in a bus when gunmen started shooting at them, 7 persons were injured.
They were all rushed to the hospital where 2 of them succumbed to their injuries.
Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay said she believe the gunmen were sending a violent message, or it could be a reprisal for the shooting of Terrelonge who was shot and killed in January.
