Policeman Hit in His Face during Gun-battle with Gunmen in St. James

A policeman who was shot in the face by gunmen is now recovering from gunshot wounds. The officer was patrolling in Barrett Town, St James on Monday morning and had an armed confrontation took place between himself and a group of gunmen.

It is not clear if any of the gunmen were injured in the gun battle but when the shooting ended the officer was found and taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital because there were splinters of bullet fragments in his face and they needed to be removed.
