Popcaan Tells Friends to “Turn off” Kendrick Lamar’s Music “OVO mi thing deh”: Video

While lounging on a couch with friends and associates in the UK, Dancehall artiste Popcaan suddenly got irritated after hearing Kendrick Lamar’s music being played in the back aground, “A nuh the Kendrick Lamar song mi hear a play in yah?” Popcaan questioned.

He followed up by saying, “If a that a play guh skip that bloodcl**t… mi nuh wah hear that murdera… tun off that,” Popcaan was told that it was a radio that was playing by someone in the area, however, Popcaan’s quick reaction was “change di station.”

“BBC dem a play Kendrick Lamar in yah bout… Nuh wah hear nuh Kenrick Lamar nigga… f*ck duh yo, all when mi independent a OVO mi thing deh same way… yeah a loyalty we deal wid… look, si weh inna mi skin, the owl,” he said as he showed off his tattoo.

While Drake‘s friendship with Mavado got estranged over the years, he has gotten closer to Popcaan and Vybz Kartel having signed the Unruly deejay to his OVO record label back in 2019.

“This is something we have worked on for a very long time. I just want to let everyone know, finally, officially, 2019 Popcaan is signed to OVO,” Drake stated prior to the signing. Drake and Popcaan have released multiple collaborations over the years.

Notably Drake and Kendrick Lamar recently had a heated lyrics battle in which Lamar came out as the victor with his mega-hit song titled ‘Not Like Us’.

The video of Pocpaan dismissing Lamar’s music comes on the heels of a video showing Popcaan in a studio with Drake telling jokes. The music video for ‘Not Like Us’ has racked up over 117 million views on YouTube since being released on July 14.
