Popcaan tops iTunes Reggae Charts
The Unruly Boss, Popcaan got to the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Top Reggae Albums chart for the first time in his career. Popcaan had a lot to celebrate as he did not only sign with the OVO but the deejay delivered a banger when he dropped off his new project “Fixtape”.
The unruly boss managed to get to the top spot on numerous charts with the most notable one being the iTunes charts. Popcaan managed to dethrone Bob Marley, the late artiste has been at the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Top Reggae Albums chart for a very long time.
He not only took the crown from the legendary reggae King for his album, but Popcaan is also at the number 1 spot on the leaderboard which is the Top Reggae Songs chart with the song “Twist & Turn” featuring “Party Next Door” and Drake.
Poppy and Drake’s collaboration titled “All I Need” is the No. 2 song on the chart as well, it pushed Bob Marley’s previous leader “Three Little Birds” down to the No. 3 position.
His new project which was released on August 7 has several versions. Even though an initial 32 tracks were promoted by Popcaan on his Instagram for the “Yiy Change Mixtape,” it is available commercially and it is dubbed simply “Fixtape”, it has 19 tracks, including features with French Montana, Stylo G, Jada Kingdom, Tommy Lee Sparta, Masicka, and more.
The artiste seemed to be happy about the news of debuting at No. 1 and posted a screenshot of the Apple iTunes chart, with the simple caption, “way up.”
Popcaan is clearly not a man of many words, but he likes to make up his own. Fans and other artistes congratulated him for the achievements, Beenie Man was not left out, he wrote, “Guh fi dem”.
Popcaan currently has 4 different albums in the top 25 of the itunes chart as his other albums are getting more play hence climbing the charts after his recent Fixtape release.
Popcaan also has the 3rd most streamed album in the UK currently, see screenshot he posted below.
Even though Popcaan kept fans waiting for an album for an extremely long time, it was certainly worth the wait. After dominating iTunes charts, we sincerely hope that the Billboard is next for Popcaan who is also known as the Unruly deejay.
