Jamaica News, It was reported that an inmate was fatally shot while trying to disarm a warder when they were on their way to the Spanish Town Hospital, in St Catherine on Saturday.
About 11:00 am, two warders were taking the prisoner to the hospital after he complained that he was not feeling well.
This was not disclosed from which correctional facility from which the prisoner was being transported.
Sources reported that while they were on route to the hospital the prisoner made an attempt to disarm one of the warders and he was shot by the other one.
He was still taken to the hospital for treatment but he succumbed to his injuries after he got there.
It is possible that more details will be provided about the incident if it is made available in the future.
