Queen Elizabeth II Wishes Camilla Parker Bowles To Be Called “Queen Consort” After Her Passing

Queen Elizabeth II announced in a letter dated February 5, 2022, that she wishes for her son’s wife – Camilla Parker Bowles to be called “Queen Consort” after her passing.

This announcement was made on the eve of her Platinum Jubilee, which is a celebration of the historic marking of 70 years of service since her ascension to the throne in 1952 to people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

Her Majesty the Queen posted this statement “It is my sincere wish that, when the time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service.”

This support for Camilla Parker Bowles to be known as Queen Consort is one that is unexpected as it was determined in 2005 that when she married her son – Prince Charles, he would ascend to the throne as King and she would be known as Princess Consort.

Queen Elizabeth II has also requested the full support of the people to her son – Prince Charles and his wife – “Queen Consort” Camilla Parker Bowles, after their ascension to the throne.
