Quick Cook’s Father Killed in St. Mary, Day After His Birthday

Dancehall entertainer Quick Cook is mourning the death of his father who was killed Monday night while at his home in St. Mary on Monday. On Tuesday Quick Cook whose real name is Damion Lumley shared a short heartfelt message on social media as he informed fans of his loss.
His father, a 61-year-old named Michael ‘Ital’ Lumley, was shot and killed by unknown assailants in St Mary Monday night, no one else was injured in the incident.
Along with a photo of his old man, he wrote, “Never thought I would lose a parent this year 💔. Rest In Peace Daddy,” along with a dove emoji on Instagram.
In an interview with the Jamaica Observer, Quick Cook explained that his father turned 61 the day before his death, “The man celebrated his birthday on Sunday, and dem kill him on Heroes Day.”
The entertainer went on to detail that his father is a hero to himself and his siblings. He also labelled him a “legend to all in his community.”
Lumley had a total of six children, consisting of 4 boys and 2 girls. The family have since dismissed rumours that Lumley was killed as a result of gang violence.
