Music legend Quincy Jones who is regarded as one of the best music producers of all time passed away Sunday night at his Bel Air home at age 91, surrounded by family.
The musician is best known for his groundbreaking contributions to jazz, pop, and beyond, Quincy was named by Time Magazine as one of the most influential jazz musicians of the 20th century.
He is celebrated as a composer, record producer, film producer, arranger, and multimedia entrepreneur. Quincy’s career spanned over seven decades, collaborating with icons like Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and Will Smith.
His work with Jackson on the albums Off the Wall, Bad, and the record-breaking Thriller propelled him into global stardom, cementing his legacy as one of the most successful producers of all time. Thriller remains the best-selling album in history, showcasing Quincy’s unmatched talent and vision.
Arnold Robinson, Quincy’s publicist, confirmed his passing to TMZ, releasing a statement from the family: “Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing… we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.”
