Rasta Progrez ‘Inspired’
With several parents still unable to send their children back to school or with the resources needed, reggae recording artiste Rasta Progrez wants them to stay ‘encouraged’. His single ‘Inspired’, produced by Gold N Rule Entertainment and Rockaz Elements Production, seeks to ‘motivate’ people to push past obstacles and to stay focused on achieving their goals.
The single was initially written as a campaign song for a clothing line in the United States, but the artiste chose to develop it into a motivational song that would resonate with the masses. “I am a Christian and a Rasta, so my hope is to spread positivity and to encourage others through music. We can see that after the onset of COVID-19 and with the ongoing changes to the economy, people are going through challenging times at home and at work, so being able to provide music as a form of therapy is always rewarding”.
The video which shows the struggle of everyday Jamaicans was directed by X and edited by Shvckwave. ‘Inspired’ has also garnered international attention in parts of Europe and in the UK. He adds, “I am a God-fearing person who loves life and people, so to be getting requests from people overseas for the song and dubs, as well as calls from fans saying they are hearing me on the radio in their country makes me feel elated”.
Inspired by the likes of Bob Marley, Buju Banton, and Luciano, Rasta Progrez is known for his catalogue of positive singles such as ‘Joy’, ‘Cold World’, and ‘One Day’. He grew up on the outskirts of Spanish Town and was given the name ‘Rasta Progrez’ by Luciano, as ‘Progrez’ means ‘God-fearing’.
‘Inspired’ is available to stream on all major digital music streaming platforms.
