Reggae Artiste Sevana On Trial For Causing Death By Dangerous Driving

Reggae artiste Sevana on Tuesday appeared before the court after being charged for a May 25th incident that surrounded her reportedly causing death by dangerous driving.

The singer’s attorney Yushaine Morgan spoke on the matter on the court date and told the Jamaica Star that the artiste whose real name is Anna Blake, will need to appear before the court once more on November 23rd.

The Tuesday court date was treated as a preliminary to the other sessions set for the future and according to Morgan, Sevana had to appear or else a warrant would have been set for her to be placed in custody.

The singer’s involvement in the legal proceedings at this time according to her attorney does not interfere with her freedom to perform at concerts or any other event and made it clear that the “Bit Too Shy” artiste, can still be booked.

The incident that finds Sevana tied off in the current legal proceedings happened on the mentioned day in May when the singer was said to be driving a Honda car back to Kingston, and while driving behind a truck that suddenly drew brakes, she had to swerve out of the road, which led her to eventually lose handle of the car which led to a collision with a Honda fit motor vehicle.

According to the reports the person driving the Honda fit was identified as Ordia Cordiel who received injuries that proved to be fatal, to her after being admitted to the Black River Hospital in St. Elizabeth.

Sevana is well known in the singing world for starting her career on the Digicel Rising Stars competition, then moving on to be later signed by Reggae artiste Protoje’s In.Digg.Nation Collective for whom she has done tracks such as “Mango” and “Set Me On Fire”.
