Reggae Boy Michail Antonio Celebrates 35th Birthday: Reflects on Severe Car Accident

Reggae Boyz forward player Michail Antonio who lives in the UK turned 35 years old on Friday, February 28 and according to the West Ham player, he has a lot to be thankful for this time around, given that he was involved in a severe accident in late 2024.

As per Antonio, he has not really celebrated a birthday since he turned 30 years old, however, he is specially thankful for this one with the fact that he could have not made it to his 35th birthday.

He shared a photo of himself with the caption, “Since my 30th birthday I’ve woke up on my birthdays not really fussed about the day and I did the same thing this morning until the realisation hit me I actually almost didn’t make it to this birthday. So I just want to thank god for saving me and allowing me to make it to another birthday. I also want to say happy birthday to everyone whose birthday it is today. Let’s live it up.”

Antonio who has not played football professionally since his accident stated the following after the accident in December, “Every year around this time, I’m asked what I’m grateful for, and every year I’ve struggled to find the right words. But this year, I know exactly what I’m grateful for: being alive.”

Photos that went viral online following the accident shows a silver-coloured Ferrari car almost totally destroyed with a wheel missing, in the woods, next to trees. As reported by The Guardian, the footballer crashed his Ferrari GTC4Lusso which is worth more than £200,000 in Epping Forest, Essex, UK.
