Reggae Girlz Unable To Pay For And Clear Equipment At Airport
According to reports from the Jamaica Observer, the Jamaica Reggae Girlz, as well as their coaching staff, are reportedly stuck at the George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport because they are unable to afford the fees for their equipment.
The girls were scheduled for a 1 pm connecting flight to Miami but were unable to proceed due to the lack of funds, which reports say is a recurring issue.
The Reggae Girlz have been competing in Monterrey, Mexico in the Concacaf Women’s Championship and have solidified a place in the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Fighting for a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the Girlz defeated Costa Rica 1-0 on Monday.
