Massive Win For The Reggae Girlz Against Grenada In Concacaf Women World Cup Qualifier

On Sunday, February 20, 2022, The Reggae Girlz secured a massive 6-1 win against Grenada in their second game in the first round of the Concacaf Women World Cup qualifying at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium.

Tiffany Cameron secured the team’s first goal in the 28th minute, then Jody Brown in the 42nd minute while Khadijah Shaw added a third goal in the 45th minute. This 3-0 lead by the Reggae Girlz continued into the second half. However, in the 52nd minute, Roneisha Frank scored for Grenada and secured their only goal in the match.

Another goal was then scored by Jody Brown in the 54th minute and just 19 minutes after, Alika Keene scored a goal for Jamaica. The final goal to complete the match was scored again by Khadija Shaw in the 90th minute which secured the 6-1 win for the game.

Currently, after two games Jamaica and the Dominican Republic are tied on six points with the Dominican Republic having a significant lead in goal difference of plus 13, whereas, Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz has plus 9.

On April 9, Jamaica will compete against the Cayman Islands and against the Dominican Republic on April 12. Only the winners of the group will advance to the final round of the Concacaf Women World Cup qualifying that is scheduled for July in Mexico.
