Robert Fowler Returns to COURT TODAY for The KILLING of Khanice Jackson

The 50-year-old mechanic, Robert Fowler, who reportedly confessed to the murder of 20-year-old accounting clerk, Khanice Jackson is scheduled to return to the Home Circuit Court in Kingston, Jamaica on Thursday.

The matter was set for July 8, as time was given for the case file to be completed, after his last appearance in court via Zoom in April. The media were barred from the courtroom when Fowler’s case was called up previously.

The attorney, Lynden Wellesley represented the accused in April who remains remanded in police custody.

Khanice, who lived in Independence City, Portmore, St Catherine, went missing on March 24,2021 after she left home for work. Two days later her body was found at the Portmore Fishing Village in St Catherine.

Fowler was apprehended and taken into custody, not long after.

After police investigations, the mechanic was charged with murder, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Fitz Bailey had revealed. It was reported that Fowler lured Jackson to his house in Portmore, killed her, and left her body there and went to his job.

It was understood that just a platonic relationship existed between Jackson and Fowler at the time. 

However, on the morning of her death, investigations revealed that Mr Fowler lured her to his home under the guise that he forgot to take a piece of equipment that was needed for his trade as a mechanic he had to get it, and that caused Jackson to ended up being at his home in Portmore, the chief crime officer had revealed this information earlier.

Investigations also revealed that an argument had developed and Fowler got upset. It was noted that Jackson was strangled with a piece of rope and pieces of it were also found at the home of Fowler.

The DCP reported that Fowler admitted that Jackson was strangled at the time.
