Rosealee Talks World Dawg, Selling Peanuts in Kingston, School, Family, TikTok and More: Interview

Popular Jamaican TikToker Rosealee whose real name is June Dixon talks about her family, previously selling peanuts Downtown, TikTok, School, World Dawg and more in her very first major interview published on Friday.

The interview was done with Winford Williams of Onstage TV, something she expressed that she’s proud about.

As it relates to World Dawg and Joe’s shooting, she expressed that World Dawg along with Swiiss Lee are her brothers and she is saddened by the news, she also sent “condolences” to Joe’s family. “World Dawg a mi bredda… memba seh a Friday night we a party enuh… fi hear that Tuesday, mi shock!… it shake up the wul a the internet.”

The Seaview Gardens native was next asked about her viral appearance on Swiiss Lee’s party stage, which she agreed to, “Mi took the party by a storm… call it seh mi boom dung Jamaica.”

Rewinding to her online start, Dixon highlights that DJ Lava gave her her first buzz on Instagram via his once-popular ‘Chat and Laugh’ show during “Covid Time”. Rosealee detailed that her confidence and outspoken ways caused the show’s viewers and host to love her. “Mi talk mi gwaan wid miself, confidence is key… always tell the truth,” she stated.

With regards to her constant arguments on TikTok, Rosealee expressed that several people “pick” on her on the app and their mouths often times meet because she won’t back down, “yuh nuh fraid a mi suh mi nuh afraid a yuh,” she outlined. June further stated that she doesn’t take the TikTok arguments seriously.

“Duh this and beat me,” slang was coined by Rosealee and made more popular by Miss Kitty.

As it relates to the bad comments, she admits that sometimes it’s “hard” to not take them seriously, “Yuh have wuleep a bad comments, yuh have people weh seh things bout yo weh not even guh suh enuh, yuh have people weh hate yuh fi no reason and yuh neva duh them nutt’n…”

She continues, “Mi nuh think stardom a fi everybody, cause a nuh everybody ago have the mindset to keep pushing, keep being you, mi nuh care weh yuh have fi seh.” She went on to declare that “social media” is not for the weak because people will “tear yuh down for no reason.”

“Sometime mi ansa dem, sometime mi block and sometime mi nuh look,” she says regarding the negative comments.

Rosealee is on TikTok full-time because it’s her “work”, a far way away from her previous work. She stated that she was a “street side vendor” who usually sells peanuts on the sidewalk in Downtown, Kingston. “Mi is a hustler… mi is a go getter… that show yuh seh mi nuh lazy,” says the mother of two.

With regard to schooling, she highlights that she stopped going to school in 11th grade after getting into a dispute with another female.

When asked about her partner, she details being with her “babyfather” for over a decade and not interested in marriage. Rosealee revealed that they have been together since she was 20 years old and now she’s 31 years old.
