Rotimi in Jamaica For “Lovers and Friends” Concert, Links Up With Valiant – Watch Videos
Nigerian-American singer/actor Rotimi has arrived in Jamaica for the first time and interestingly met with fast-rising dancehall star Valiant. Rotimi is the headliner of the Lovers and Friends event hosted later this evening at Plantation Cove in Priory, St. Ann.
Rotimi, born Olurotimi Akinosho, arrived on Friday at the Sangster International Airport, where he told a spokesperson from Good Vibrations Entertainment (who are hosting the event) about how he felt and his desire to try everything.
“I’m so mad at myself for not being here sooner you know cause this would be my first time…I heard it’s amazing and the fact that Bob Marley is my favourite artist ever, it’s embarrassing this is my first time,” he stated.

Judging by the content he shared on his Instagram account, Rotimi, also known as Mr. Butterscotch, appeared ecstatic to be on the tropical island. One of the videos featured a view of the ocean and the island from the plane window.

More videos showed him greeting people in the airport before heading to the hotel, where he also made time to greet fans. The In My Bed singer was spotted taking in the beautiful sites of the island and grabbing a meal at a hotel.

The 34-year-old later went to the studio, where he was seen vibing to the music. Additional videos of the studio showed that Valiant was also present, and the pair had a good time hanging together. One of the videos had the caption, “Loading,” which could possibly suggest that he and Fada Dipo are working on a joint project.

The lineup for the concert tonight includes international celebrities, such as American artiste Mya, who also arrived Friday, and prominent R&B singer Bobby Valentino. It also features local performers Chris Martin, Sizzla, Alaine, J Written, and British Geeza.
In addition to Kurt Riley and ZJ Sparks juggling, Mac Blazze will host the show.
