SAHARAN DUST might last up to two weeks in JAMAICA

The Saharan Dust is being channeled from the coast of West Africa, it was forecast to reach the island yesterday and Jamaicans are being encouraged to take precautions especially in the cases of people with sinusitis and asthma.

The weather conditions of the day are being predicted by a supercomputer model which predicts conditions to be warm, dry and hazy, these patterns are forecasted to last up to two weeks as the dust might be staying in the country for that long.

On the flip side of the weather, there is expected to be rain and blue skies as a result of several tropical waves.

Reports are that the Saharan dust movement was last observed in Trinidad before proceeding to Jamaica.
