Scientists Prefer New Anal Swab Testing for COVID-19 – China Says the Butt is more Accurate

A new way of testing for the Novel Coronavirus has been rolled out by some Chinese officials. The life-size dummy that was used to demonstrate the procedure for the test wore pajamas and he was bent over with his legs spread far apart and his anus was exposed.
Similar to what is done when a cavity search is done for weapons or drugs in airports.
The health care official then dips the swab into saline solution, which is the standard practice for the methodology before he inserts it deep into the hole. He then gives it a twist, to be sure enough cells are collected before the swab is placed in the sample plastic tube.
Some Chinese are not happy about the surprise screening they are subjected to, in Northern China at airports.
Sources revealed that the test is not mandatory all over China in all provinces.
There are some individuals who are allowed to keep their dignity and they swab themselves in a room before they are allowed to leave.
However, if the authorities believe you have been exposed to the virus they may want to administer the Covid-19 test to you in this way.
A study recently carried out in China concluded that anal swabs are more effective in detecting whether or not a person is COVID-19 positive.
“If we add anal swab testing, it can raise our rate of identifying infected patients,” Li Tongzeng, an infectious-disease specialist at Beijing You’an Hospital, said on state-run broadcaster CCTV on Sunday.
It was explained that persons have done tests both orally and anally however this new method proves to be a better to find positive cases, “Intriguingly, SARS-CoV-2 detection was positive in the anal swab of two patients and negative in throat swab and sputum samples…We propose anal swabs as the potentially optimal specimen for SARS-CoV-2 detection for evaluation of hospital discharge of covid-19 patients.”
Even though this might be the best method in testing based on evidence, something like this would be of much debate and rejection in areas around the world, especially in Jamaica
